VLOV
A voice companion for the Mac. An iridescent 3D blob listens, answers with Claude and talks back, from a floating window or the MacBook notch.
Speech recognition, Claude and ElevenLabs voices in one pipeline, with tools to act on the Mac, memory between sessions and an optional ESP32-S3 screen that mirrors its face.

What it is
A conversational voice companion for macOS. A 3D blob reacts to your voice in real time, in nine visual styles, while a pipeline handles transcription, Claude's answers and text-to-speech.
It lives in a floating window, shrinks to a mini widget or docks into the MacBook notch. There it also replaces the volume and brightness HUD and shows what's playing in any app.
How it works
Transcription runs on the Mac with macOS 26's SpeechAnalyzer: about 130 ms, and the audio never leaves the machine. When it can't serve a clip, it falls back to Whisper or ElevenLabs Scribe.
Claude can act: type in apps, move the cursor, look at the screen, search the web, set reminders and run voice macros. Terminal commands, AppleScript and sending email always ask first. Facts are remembered between sessions, and API keys are stored encrypted.
There's also plain dictation: double-tap a modifier, speak, and the text lands wherever you're typing. An optional ESP32-S3 screen over USB mirrors the companion's face and state.

Development
Dictation, macros as files and a mood that lasts.
Speak into whatever you're typing, export and import macros, and a background mood carried between sessions.
First release, still called voice-bolb.
