Makatulu
A vocal recording room in the browser. Import a beat, record your takes and hand clean stems to a mix engineer.
A web app for rappers and singers who record at home. It captures lossless 24-bit audio over the beat and, in one click, packs every take as WAV files aligned from second zero.
Built with
Next.js · React · TypeScript · Web Audio API · AudioWorklet · IndexedDB · Supabase

What it is
Import your beat, plug in your mic, record your takes and get a ZIP ready for whoever mixes the song. No Pro Tools, Logic or REAPER to install.
It's deliberately not another DAW: no mixing, mastering, plugins, MIDI or AI. If it doesn't help record vocals or deliver stems, it doesn't go in.
How it works
Recording goes through an AudioWorklet instead of MediaRecorder, so every take is a real lossless 24-bit WAV, not compressed audio. Each track (lead, doubles, ad-libs, chorus) holds several takes, with punch-in, loop recording and comping.
Editing covers what vocals need: trims and cuts, a volume line you drag on each clip, fades with bendable curves, crossfades and a musical grid from the BPM.
Prepare for engineer builds one ZIP with the stems, the beat, a reference mix, notes.txt and session.json, all starting at second zero so they open in sync in any DAW. Without an account it runs entirely in the browser; with Supabase, projects and audio sync to the cloud.
