Assembly Studio

A Mac viewer for assemblies. Import the parts, explode them, build the assembly step by step and export instructions anyone can open in a browser.

It takes STL, glTF, 3MF or Blender files, keeps their coordinates and turns them into an animated assembly sequence with an instruction, tools and a camera angle for every step.

What it is

A local viewer for things made of many parts. You drop in loose files or whole folders, and it keeps every part where it belongs.

Projects are self-contained and save themselves as you work. The finished sequence exports as a page that opens in any browser, or as one image per step to print.

How it works

The scene can show the assembly mounted, exploded radially, along one axis or laid out as an inventory, with a slider for how far apart. A gizmo moves and rotates parts, and each part can declare how it leaves the assembly: putting it together is the same movement in reverse.

Analyse proposes an exit direction and an order for every part. Each proposal comes with a confidence and a reason, and nothing changes until you approve it.

Steps live on a timeline with their duration, instruction, tools and camera. Tab switches to a clean presentation mode. The inspector also estimates the filament each part would take, clearly labelled as an estimate, not a slice.
